Overview

A super, new 5 day break taking in some of the highlights of our lovely south coast. Chichester is a Roman cathedral city and the only city in West Sussex with a plethora of grade II listed buildings and many other points of interest. Arundel Castle is well worth a visit, situated in magnificent grounds overlooking the River Arun with beautiful award winning gardens and Brighton, the city, with its majestic Regency squares and crescents, iconic Royal Pavilion and famous pier, is a magnet for visitors in search of fun, frolics and fresh sea air.

Your Accommodation:

This stunningly individualistic hotel is situated on the south coast between Portsmouth and Chichester, overlooking picturesque Langstone Water. Hotel facilities include a leisure club with a swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. All of the bedrooms are ensuite with a TV, radio, telephone, hairdryer and hospitality tray. A lift serves all floors.

Your Itinerary:

Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive south to Hampshire. Arriving late afternoon, we enjoy tea or coffee and biscuits followed by time to settle in before dinner.

This morning we make our way to Chichester with its magnificent Cathedral, Roman Walls and medieval heart. The centre is compact with history all around, from the Tudor Market Cross to the Georgian terraces. We have time to explore and obtain lunch before setting off to mighty Arundel Castle, seat of the Dukes of Norfolk. Built in the 11th century, the castle has been restored and added to over the centuries to become the superb castle we see today with beautiful award winning Tropical & English Gardens, the quirky Stumpery and the abundant Kitchen Garden. Warm Glasshouses with chillis, grapes and lemons. Here you can immerse yourself in the fragrance of the Rose Garden and enjoy the tranquillity of the Fitzalan Chapel's White Garden.

Today we head east following the coast road to Worthing, Hove and the famous resort of Brighton. Here we spend the day. Enjoy a seafront stroll, explore the unique “Lanes” – a trendy area with cafes, bars and shops. You many fancy a visit to the famous Royal Pavillion with it onion domes before our included ‘flight’ on the Brighton i360, offering 360 degrees of uninterrupted views from 138 metres in the sky. We return to the Langstone Quays with time to relax before dinner.

After breakfast we head west to maritime Portsmouth where there’s plenty of interest for all. We include a visit to the Historic Dockyard, home of ‘Victory’ and ‘Mary Rose’, then free time to wander around the Old Town and perhaps visit the lovely Cathedral or Gunwharf Quays. We return to our hotel with time to relax before dinner.

After breakfast we bid farewell to Hampshire and begin our homeward journey.
