Built on the banks of the River Wear the city grew to be the seat of the ‘Prince Bishops’ who ruled on behalf of the King. Our 5 day tour allows us to view many of the wonderful places that County Durham has to offer. This break really does offer an insight into historic County Durham.

Sidmouth - Floral Town

Always a popular holiday for us as we return to Sidmouth and the Jurassic Coast - a World Heritage Site on the English Channel coast of southern England stretching from Exmouth in East Devon to Studland Bay in Dorset. The picturesque seaside town of Sidmouth is situated on this glorious Devon coast, set between deep red cliffs on the edge of Devon’s heathery uplands; the town boasts a pleasant, well-kept atmosphere.

Making tracks for the Garden of England

Kent, has been referred to as The Garden of England for hundreds of years. The county is host to gentle hills, fertile farmland and cultivated country estates with fruit filled orchards that cover the area. We feature visits to Walmer Castle & Gardens and Great Dixter House & Gardens along with a pleasant ‘chug’ along the line from pretty Tenterden to Bodiam complete with a delicious ploughman’s lunch.

Scarborough – Queen of the Yorkshire Coast

RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival

A fabulous new short break taking us to the wonderful Hampton Court Garden Festival. The original Tudor Hampton Court Palace was begun by Cardinal Wolsey in the early 16th century, but it soon attracted the attention of Henry VIII, who brought all his six wives here. Surrounded by gorgeous gardens and famous features such as the Maze and the Great Vine, the palace has been the setting for many nationally important events such as this and it makes a suitably impressive venue.
