Overview

The popularity of this wonderful, unspoilt isle owes much to its southerly position and mild and sunny climate. Our resort, Sandown, sits in the centre of Sandown bay. It offers sandy beaches which run right the way around the bay. It is also one of the few towns which has retained its pier.

The 3 star Trouville Hotel provides the ideal location for a relaxing Isle of Wight holiday, with a beautiful location on Sandown seafront.. Each of the en-suite bedrooms is equipped with a television, telephone and hospitality tray and some have stunning sea views. The bars, lounges and dining room all enjoy panoramic coastal views, making for the ideal place to relax and a lift serves all floors. For the more active of you, there is an indoor leisure room overlooking the bay that includes four lanes of short mat bowling.

Your Itinerary:

A leisurely journey from your front door to Portsmouth for the mid afternoon ferry to the Isle of Wight to arrive in Sandown late afternoon with ample time to settle in well before dinner.

Our first visit today is to the Botanical Gardens at Ventnor – 22 acres of beautiful landscaping. Lunchtime is spent in Godshill, one of the most photographed and prettiest villages on the island, with a wonderful model village.

We have a morning visit to Arreton Craft Village featuring local skilled artists in their studios. Now on to Ryde where we take a train ride on the wonderful steam hauled Isle of Wight Railway, truly a step back in time. Settle back in beautifully restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages.

This morning we visit the world renowned yachting centre of Cowes. Then to Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s magnificent seaside residence. We also visit nearby Whippingham Church where Victoria and Albert were once members of the congregation.

Leaving Sandown after breakfast we board the ferry to the mainland and journey homeward.
