Your Itinerary:

Day 1

From your front door north to Boroughbridge where we enter the Yorkshire Dales, calling at Ripon with its fine cathedral. We travel on to reach the Lake District and the Newby Bridge Hotel late afternoon with plenty of time to settle in before this evening’s dinner.

Day 2

Today we travel to Hawkeshead with its delightful cottages and cobbles, then to Ambleside with its much photographed Bridge House before reaching Keswick. For a small town, Keswick has much to offer the visitor, with its range of shops and galleries and, of course, delightful scenery.

Day 3

Today’s tour of the Yorkshire Dales takes us to visit the small market town of Kirby Lonsdale before we continue on via Ingleton to Skipton which is also a market town and which still retains its farming community atmosphere. We return via Settle, one of the most picturesque towns in Ribblesdale with its narrow streets and views of the Castleburg Crag, which dominates the town. We return to our hotel with time to relax before dinner.

Day 4

After breakfast today we visit Kendal with its castle ruins, quaint cobbled streets and antique shops. We leave Kendal and continue on to Bowness on Windermere where we join a lake cruise and enjoy the magnificent views of mountain scenery, secluded bays and wooded islands.

Day 5

A fine breakfast before bidding farewell to our hosts as we depart for home, arriving late afternoon we return to our home area after a memorable break among some of England’s finest scenery.
