Overview

We are happy to repeat this most successful 5 day break. We spend the week surrounded by the stunning landscape of the South Downs, Sussex and Portsmouth, enjoying time in quaint market towns, historic cities and looking over the surrounding area from the sky, as well as a visit to the location of BBC’s ‘The Repair Shop’.

Your Accommodation:

This stunningly individualistic hotel is situated on the south coast between Portsmouth and Chichester, overlooking picturesque Langstone Water. Hotel facilities include a leisure club with a swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. All of the bedrooms are ensuite with a TV, radio, telephone, hairdryer and hospitality tray. A lift serves all floors.

Your Itinerary:

Our door to door service takes you to the waiting Club Class coach for the drive south to Hampshire. Arriving late afternoon, we enjoy tea or coffee and biscuits followed by time to settle in before dinner.

This morning we drive east, venturing into the South Downs National Park. We pass the famous Goodwood House, as we make our way through the town of Midhurst. Heading west we enjoy views of the beautiful woodlands and open grassy plains of the National Park. We visit the fascinating Weald & Downland Living Museum. One of The Museum’s exhibits, The Court Barn from Lee-on-the-Solent is home to BBC’s The Repair Shop series. Later we visit Stansted Park Garden Centre where we have a chance to explore the variety of flowers and gifts. We return to the hotel for time to relax before dinner.

Our day takes us east to the cathedral city of Chichester. At the heart of the city lies the Tudor Market Cross and Norman Cathedral surrounded by a host of independent shops, restaurants, pavement cafes and a number of galleries. This afternoon we visit Bognor Regis for a short time, be sure to visit the towns many parks and gardens, or just relax at one of the towns cafes or public houses. The town also hosts a delightful promenade and a small pier. After time to discover this picturesque seaside resort we make our way back to our hotel.

After breakfast, we make the short drive to Portsmouth, arriving at the Emirates Spinnaker Tower. This stunning 170 metre icon of the South Coast and Britain’s best viewing tower offers breath-taking panoramic views of Portsmouth’s harbour and skyline. The rest of the day is yours to explore, perhaps visit the Historic Dockyard, home of ‘Victory’ and ‘Mary Rose’, visit the lovely cathedral or just relax and watch the ships come and go.

After breakfast we bid farewell to Hampshire and begin our homeward journey.
