The Metropole Hotel - 4 Star

Located in the historic spa town of Llandrindod Wells, in the ‘Heart of Wales’ this beautiful town with its Victorian canopied streets make the perfect base for our stay. Hotel facilities include a spacious lounge, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, steam room, whirlpool and a gym. All of the en-suite bedrooms have TV, telephone, a hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has 2 lifts which serve all floors. A firm Fenn Holiday favourite!



Your Itinerary:



Day 1

From your front door to join the Club Class coach for the drive through the Heart of England to Wales arriving in Llandrindod Wells late afternoon with time to relax before dinner.


Day 2

This morning we begin with a drive to the Elan Valley and the Dams Visitor Centre for a short break. We return to Llandrindod Wells in time to obtain lunch in the town before our afternoon outing. Later on, we visit the National Cycle Museum in Llandrindod Wells and Journey through the lanes of cycle history and see bicycles from 1818, such as the Hobby Horse, Boneshakers and Penny Farthings, up to the most modern Carbon Fibre machines of today.


Day 3

Today we have a full day excursion to Aberystwyth and the Vale of Rheidol Railway. We catch the morning train along the former Great Western line to Devil’s Bridge – this was the last route to operate steam trains for British Rail before private ownership in 1989. A short walk from the terminus brings you to the spectacular Mynach Falls. We take a break at Devil’s Bridge and have time for refreshments before we catch the return train to Aberystwyth.


Day 4

Our day begins with a journey through the beautiful and diverse scenery of the Brecon Beacons National Park, with free time to explore Brecon - a picturesque market town with a rich history. Later, we enjoy a relaxing cruise along the historical Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal.


Day 5

After breakfast we leave Wales and head for home by way of the cathedral city of Worcester. Late afternoon we arrive in our home areas where we are greeted by our awaiting taxis.
