Your Itinerary:

Day 1

From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for our journey north. We spend time in delightful Ashbourne at the foot of Dove Dale then on to Sheffield and our holiday home for the next 4 nights. We have ample time to settle in before dinner this evening.

Day 2

This morning we travel to Doncaster for our visit to the delightful Brodsworth Hall. Explore the changing fortunes of a wealthy Victorian family and their servants. We explore the Grand Drawing Room, Billiard Room, family bedrooms and Victorian kitchen. This afternoon we return to Sheffield to enjoy free time. Perhaps visit the Botanical Gardens, featuring Grade II Glass Pavilion’s that house a wonderful collection of plants from the temperate areas of the world, or explore some of the other museums and attractions in the city centre.

Day 3

Today we head into the Peak District, with wonderful scenery all around. Our first visit is to the picturesque market town of Bakewell – home of the original Bakewell Tart or pudding. From here we move on to Buxton, with its pedestrianised main street, delightful gardens and magnificent historic buildings. This afternoon takes us to the fantastic Lyme Park and its House & Gardens, the backdrop for some of the filming of 'Pride and Prejudice'. Step back in time to the Regency era - a time which saw great rejuvenation for Lyme. Enjoy lavish interiors, try out the billiards table in the Long Gallery or read a book in the library.

Day 4

This morning we drive to Chesterfield, with the famous crooked spire of St Mary’s Church. We spend time here before travelling on to Hardwick Hall & Gardens – one of the finest Elizabethan buildings in the country.

Day 5

After breakfast we bid farewell to our hosts and make our way home. We stop at Lichfield for lunch before continuing to our home areas mid-afternoon, after an enjoyable luxury break.
