A firm favourite with our clients; Torquay in Devon, the heart of the English Riviera, is a popular, stylish resort with a strong Continental atmosphere. It is situated at the heart of 22 miles of unspoilt coastline and enjoys a mild climate. Our tour includes a steam train ride on the old coastal line, a cruise along the River Dart and a fabulous journey by ferry to pretty Brixham.

Your Accommodation:

The 3 star Best Western Livermead Cliff Hotel, situated on Torquay’s water’s edge offering stunning sea views, has become a firm favourite with our clients. It is a pleasant level stroll away from the town centre and marina. Hotel facilities include Oceanic Restaurant, Riviera bar, lounge and terrace with beautiful views across Torbay. All bedrooms feature en suite facilities, television, hairdryer, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. A lift serves all floors.

Your Itinerary:

Outward journey from your front door to the Club Class coach for the drive to the English Riviera, to arrive at our hotel late afternoon.

A different mode of transport today! First we take the coach to nearby Paignton to board the Paignton and Dartmouth Railway for a steam train ride along the spectacular Torbay Coast to Kingswear. Here we join the ferry to Dartmouth before taking a circular hour-long cruise along the river and estuary. We have some free time in Dartmouth before the return train from Kingswear to Paignton.

This morning we drive to Moretonhampstead and the House of Marbles for a coffee stop. This is a working glass and games factory making an unusual range of traditional games, puzzles, toys, marbles and glassware for many years. Meander round the old kilns and old pottery buildings, browse in the gift shop. From here we make our way to the coast, Teignmouth and delightful Dawlish where we spend time here to explore and obtain lunch before our afternoon return to Torquay.

This morning is spent at leisure to discover our resort of Torquay. After time for lunch, we meet at the harbour to join the Western Lady Ferry service for the 30 minute cruise across the bay to reach Brixham with its beautiful harbour and maze of narrow, winding streets. Explore the harbour side shops, watch the fishermen, or just watch the world go by before we return to Torquay by coach for our final evening’s dinner.

We return to our home area after a relaxing break on the charming English Riviera.
