Another delightful tour gives the opportunity to discover the coastal delights of Somerset including Exmoor, the West Somerset Railway and the famed Cider. Our base, Minehead is ideal for all these attractions

Your Accommodation:

The 3 star Northfield Hotel is located on the lower slopes of Northhill in nearly 2 acres of landscaped gardens. The hotel provides wonderful views from the coast to the Quantocks, Brendon Hills and indeed Exmoor itself. All the en-suite rooms have bath or shower, digital TV, tea making facilities and complimentary Wi-FI. Public rooms include a bar, lounge and restaurants. An indoor swimming pool and gym is also available and lifts serve all floors

Your Itinerary:

From your front door to the waiting Club Class coach for a leisurely drive through the heart of England to arrive at our hotel late afternoon for tea/coffee and biscuits

A morning drive through the Polden Hills to Street, Glastonbury and the delightful little city of Wells. After a time to explore we continue to the great resort of Weston-Super-Mare, steeped with Victorian history and dominated by a long stretch of glorious beach, Weston-Super-Mare is the perfect example of all the attractions that coastal Somerset offers.

Our first stop this morning is the picturesque resort of Lynmouth where we have time to explore the narrow streets and maybe take the cliff railway to the twin village of Lynton. From here we make our way through scenic ‘Little Switzerland’, as this part of Exmoor is known, to the lovely village of Dunster, with its famous castle and octagonal Yarn Market. We return to the hotel late afternoon.

A morning visit to the famed Sheppey’s Cider Farm to see how the potent drink is brewed and of course how it tastes. Our return sees us stop at Bishops Lydeard for a scenic train ride on the 23 mile long West Somerset Railway through the heart of the Quantock Hills and unspoilt villages to reach Minehead and the waiting coach.

A leisurely breakfast before we reluctantly bid farewell to our hosts at the Northfield and begin our homeward journey. After stops for refreshments we return to our home area and waiting taxis late afternoon.
